Kat grew up in a small old vilage in Germany called Mechterstädt. Her family has been the blacksmith of the village for many generations, which explains her passion for craftmanship and accuracy.
She has a Bachelors degree in Interior Design and Spatial Strategies at Muthesius Academy of Fine Art and Design in Kiel, Germany. This course taught her in stage design, curation, furniture design and enabled her to understand every aspect connected to spaces and interiors..
In 2014 she finished her Masters degree with distinction in Design at Central Saint Martins London. After two years of project-based research she developed a new wax based composite, which she used to build her furniture collection called ‘Waxploration’.
Since then she has been featured in numerous magazines around the world. She exhibited in many galleries and shows. And was a finalist at the NOVA award.
