SEATING MODULE FOR BENT BAMBOO
In order to reflect the temporary character of the documenta, I have designed furniture, which can be build from modules shaped like a three-dimensional “L”.
So every visitor can make their own chair by connecting the modules with a bar. Using this base element, I created chairs, stools, benches and tables. Furthermore, my draft contains translucent counters, which reflect the shapes of the shadow made by the bamboo sticks.
Artistically, the furniture is in dialogue with the surrounding room. The strict form of the pieces contrasts with the fluent and organic rooms created by the natural shape of the bamboo. Nevertheless, the visitor will experience the overall composition as harmonic, since the material is white and translucent. All furniture is made from recycled polypropylene.
